Kamil* was born on a tiny island where more than 98% of the population is Muslim. And so was he, until he moved abroad to study and was introduced to the person of Jesus Christ. Because of his faith, however, he could never come back. His communication with his family back home is very limited since they can be severely harmed for having a Christian son, even outside the country.
This brilliant young man pursued his education and became an economist. But he had to face all sorts of problems to renew his passport due to his citizenship. He could not go back to his home country, where he would possibly be killed, and he could not have documents elsewhere. He was stuck in an African country for a season, but he was not able to get the permanent paperwork. By God’s grace, MORE was able to facilitate that this brother moved to Brazil, where he was received as a refugee.
Now Kamil works as an economist in agitated Sao Paulo but still does not have a permanent residency. He perseveres and shares his faith with all those that come across his path in the new home. Pray for Kamil, his family back at his island, and that he does not get discouraged or disheartened as he influences the Western church with his powerful testimony.
